  BRAKES

The brakes are one of the last things people mod on thier car. This is in many ways a stupid thing to do in my opinion. what good is all that power your now making if you can't stop it. The 300ZX has a somewhat excellent stock braking system. 4 wheel disc, vented rotors on the 87-89 models, turbo 87-89 even came with twin piston calipers, stock. These are more than what your average driver will need. But when you start to push the car to it's limits you'll quickly learn they need inprovement.

I'm looking at several possibilities for an upgrade.
1: I install a set of Z32 4 piston calipers with slotted rotors.
2: Use the ArizonaZcar.com Wilwood Big Brake kit.

The Z32 brakes would normally be enough braking power for anyone. But I'm one of those freaks that likes to overkill on everything. So I'm going to spend the cash on the Big Brake kit for the reasons of NEVER experiancing brake fade ever again! And to fill out my new 18" wheels a bit.

  WHEELS AND SUSPENSION

A well balanced car can mean the differance between winning and loosing. But getting the car to a state of balance should almost be considered an art form. There is so much involved in seting up a suspension and chassie that I'll just call it Voodoo.

My plans are for a full coilover setup to get the most I can from the car. Currently no one makes a coilover kit for the Z31 but there are rumors of a kit in the works. If I don't make my own kit I'll end up ordering one from whoever makes it for the car unless it's total junk.

BASIC COILOVER SETUP
  ENGINE

I'm planning on having a 500rwhp beast. To do this I must seriously build the motor! This is my (partial) parts list/wish list:

Eagle H-beam connecting rods.
Ross or BRC forged pistons.
ARP studs and bolts.
Total Seal piston rings.
Clevite 77 Tri-metal bearings.
Ferrea Stainless Valves.
Schneider valve springs.
GT35R Turbo.
Custom manifolds.
Custom Fuel rails.
Haltech Standalone.
Etc. etc. Really to much to list.
